Gonzaga's Morrison Announces Pro Decision in Spokane Washington
Well it's finally official. As reported earlier in the week, Gonzaga Bulldog Adam Morrison makes his decision.
'Gonzaga forward Adam Morrison, a consensus all-American, told reporters in Spokane, Wash., Wednesday that he will enter the upcoming NBA Draft.
'It was a tough decision,' Morrison said, who had one year of eligibility left. 'I`ve loved every moment I`ve experienced at Gonzaga, but I feel I`m ready to take on the challenges of something I have always dreamed about -- an NBA career.'
Morrison was the nation`s leading scorer this past season with 28.1 points per game. He was the runner-up to Duke`s J.J. Redick for both the Naismith and Wooden Awards as player of the year in men`s collegiate basketball.
He led the Bulldogs to a 29-4 record -- 14-0 in the West Coast Conference -- as well as a conference tournament title and a trip to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
Coach Mark Few said Gonzaga hated to lose Thornton, but wished him well.
'He`s been an integral force behind what we`ve been able to keep going the past three years,' said Few.
In three seasons at Gonzaga, Morrison scored 1,867 points -- third on the school`s all-time list behind Frank Burgess (2,196) and Jim McPhee (2,015).'
The fans of the Gonzaga Bulldogs will miss this leading scorer.
