Wake up biker dudes! The OCC Orange County Choppers are a headin' to Spokane Washington.
'The renowned bike builders, The Orange County Choppers, are coming to Spokane this summer. The OCC are considered by many to be royalty in the custom motorcycle industry.
The stars of the popular TV show, "American Chopper" are planning an appearance at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center on July 28-30. The official word came from the Teutel family in a video announcement on Wednesday afternoon. It was delivered to an excited crowd at Northern Quest Casino.
The Choppers selected Spokane as one of only four stops on its 2006 tour across the country. The event will include live shows with the cast building a bike on stage, a multi-million dollar theme bike collection, and how-to tips for motorcycle enthusiasts. The event is expected to be big business for Spokane.
"Normally our fans come from 8,10,12 hours away to see us because we don't get out that much," said Kerry Dunne, the show's promoter. "We're gonna bring $20-$30 million worth of theme bikes here that many people have seen us build on TV and so it's really an opportunity that they may not ever get."
Dunne says every restaurant and hotel in Spokane will be filled with Chopper fans, bringing in millions of dollars into the economy. The OCC will also donate a sizeable amount of money to the Spokane Boys and Girls Club. '
Maybe that's why they finally decided to repair third. An "OCC chopper" street drag race down that baby. Good luck timing the lights in this town.
