Spokane Washington Animal Right Activists Angry Over Tasered Cow

Well, we knew that wouldn't be the end of it when the police in Spokane Valley Washington, tasered a cow to death, earlier this week.

'Animal right activists in Spokane are outraged after Spokane County deputies tasered a cow over and over again Wednesday morning, eventually killing it.

The sheriff's office says the cow was on the loose for five hours and eventually ended up near the Spokane Valley Mall and deputies say they Tasered the cow to keep it from causing a crash.

Animal right activists and the Humane Society say the deputies’ actions were "grossly inhumane", a point which the Sheriff’s Office disagrees with.

“Nobody wants to hurt an animal but by the same token we're responsible for the safety of the people,” SCSO Public Information Officer Sgt. Dave Reagan said. “If that cow got on the freeway and been hit or caused a collision it's very likely someone could've been seriously injured or killed.”'

Imagine if they had opened fire on the poor beast too. Possibly, they could have called in a rodeo export to lasso the animal. Instead of shocking it to death with a taser stun gun, the Humane Society may have come up with a better solution.
